West of the Moon

Oil on canvas · 130 × 130 cm

Inspired by the Norwegian fairy tale East of the Sun and West of the Moon, in which a young woman journeys into an enchanted realm to rescue a prince from a curse. The story of separation, transformation and perseverance becomes a meditation on the distance between the familiar and the unknown.
